Statement of Faith

  • We believe in the complete inspiration of the accepted canon of the Scriptures as originally given. The Scriptures are infallible, inerrant, and the sole and final authority for all matters of faith and conduct (II Timothy 3:16-17; I Corinthians 2:13; II Peter 1:19-21).
  • We believe in the eternal Godhead who has revealed Himself as one God existing in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, distinguishable but indivisible (Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 48:16; Matthew 28:19; II Corinthians 13:14; Ephesians 4:5).
  • We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the savior of men, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary; very God and very man (Luke 1:26-38; John 1:1-18; Isaiah 7:14; 9:6-7).
  • We believe in the creation, test, and fall of man as recorded in Genesis. His total spiritual depravity and inability to attain to divine righteousness (Romans 3:10,23; 5:12,18).
  • We believe that Jesus Christ died for our sins, was buried and rose again the third day, and personally appeared unto His disciples (Luke 24:1-53; Romans 4:25; I Corinthians 15:1-8).
  • We believe in the bodily ascension of Jesus to heaven, His exaltation, and personal, literal, and bodily coming again the second time for His church (John 14:1-3; Ephesians 1:17-23; I Thessalonians 4:13-18; II Thessalonians 1:7; Revelation 19:11-16).
  • We believe in the finished work of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross. Jesus’ death on the cross was sufficient for our total forgiveness and freedom. Therefore we do not strive to gain what we have been given through Christ. We have unmerited favor through inheriting what Christ bought for us at the cross. ( John 19:30; Galatians 2:18-21; 3:13-14; Colossians 2:11-15 ).
  • We believe in the necessity of water baptism by immersion in the name of the eternal GodHead in order to fulfill the command of the Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38-39; 10:44-48; 19:1-7).
  • We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit as a real experience at or subsequent to salvation. ( Acts 2:1-4; 8:14-17; 10:44-48; 19:1-7 ; Romans 8:26-27 ).
  • We believe in the operation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit as enumerated in I Corinthians chapters 12-14, as manifested in the early church, and as a continual Spirit-filled lifestyle in the life of a believer (Romans 8:1-9:5; Galatians 5:16-25; Ephesians 5:18-21).
  • We believe in the Spirit-filled life, the need for sanctification and separation from the spirit of this age (world) and perfecting of holiness in the fear of God as expressing the true Christian faith (Deuteronomy 18:9-22; Matthew 5:47; Ephesians 5:1-21; II Corinthians 6:14-7:1; II Thessalonians 2:13-14).
  • We believe in the table of the Lord, commonly called the communion or the Lord's Supper, for believers (Matthew 26:26-29; I Corinthians 10:14-18, 11:20-34).
  • We believe in the reality an enemy and eternal judgment satan and his angels ( Matthew 25:41 ; Revelation 20:1-10 ).
  • We believe in eternal life for believers (John 3:16; ch. 5:24).
  • We believe that there is one universal church, made up of genuine believers, under the sovereign headship of the Lord Jesus Christ. The Church, loved by the Father, redeemed by the Son and empowered by the Holy Spirit, is God’s chosen instrument; commissioned to reveal His love and redemptive power to the whole world. ( Acts 15:22 ; Matthew 16:17-19; 18:15-20 ; Acts 13:1-4 ; I Corinthians 16:19 ).
